A restaurant has only one grand opening in its lifetime. For Chef Eric Sze, that means finally opening the doors to WenWen, one of NYC's most anticipated restaurants of 2022. I had to honor of capturing this magical night in WenWen's history - an extremely special memory for me since Eric is a dear friend I've known for years. Fully booked tables, hours of prep, roaring wok flames, a cacophony of overlapping voices, and a seemingly endless river of tickets filled the jam-packed grand opening on March 16th, 2022. We never see just how much work goes into opening a restaurant, especially in New York City, one of the most demanding environments in the food industry. Often, we simply go somewhere to eat, enjoy our meal, get the check, and head home. Thank you to the entire WenWen team for showing me what you do.
