IT'S. HERE. The Logic Pro X 10.5 update is finally here and it has given us some amazing features, improving Logic Pro immensely. Amongst the new features are Live Loops, Multi-Sampler, Q-Sampler, a whole new workflow with Drum Machine Designer, a step sequencer, and tons of new stock drum kits and samples. Today I'm going to be showing you my new workflow for making quick drum patterns in Logic Pro X 10.5. We're going to be using the new Drum Machine Designer by dragging and dropping samples from our All Files window, making an easy to use workflow and a much more intuitive way of doing drums in Logic. Finally, Apple has answered other DAWS like FL Studio and Ableton Live with a stock integrated step sequencer and sampler that are simple to use but extremely powerful. In this episode, Jono takes you inside the wire-frame structure of a Drum Machine Designer kit to help you build a collection of drum sounds from scratch. The easiest way to work with DMD is to load a preset kit, but that doesn't help if you want to understand exactly what's going on under the instrument's hood. Here, Jono goes pad-by-pad to help you understand how to curate a collection of sounds, whether you want to import them from the library or work with Drum Synth. He'll show you the parameters available to each sound (without leaving the DMD interface), show you how to introduce track effects and show how each pad is effectively a 'lane' within an ever-expanding Track Stack.
